The new semester group arrived in Johannesburg on 16 August and in Windhoek on 26 August. Last week, their first days in Namibia, was filled to the brim with orientation activities, including our Team Building Retreat at a nearby guestfarm.
The purpose of the Retreat is to allow staff and students to get to know each other on a more personal level. While many activities are fun and silly (a ball-toss name game and an egg-spoon race!), some are more intense (the identity stations exercise in which small groups discuss their relationships to race, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and others).
Fun and exciting, our Team Building Retreat provided a great start to the semester in Windhoek!
