Meet our new part-time instructor for politics at CGE Namibia: Professor Phanuel Kaapama


Professor Kaapama is facilitating the Political Science course, Political and Social Change for the Fall Semester 2011.

Professor Kaapama has a vast experience in Namibian politics and Africa in general. He is a professor for Politics, Governance and Development Studies in the Department of Politics and Administration at the University of Namibia. He is the author and co-author of many publications. Apart from being a professor, he also serves as board member of the National Institute of Democracy and works as a consultant for a variety of organizations. His areas of interest include: politics and governance in Namibia, Post Conflict reconciliation, reconstruction and development, and the African agrarian land questions. He completed his Master’s Degree at the University of Bristol in Development Administration and Planning. He is currently working towards a PhD from the University of Witwatersrand in Public and Development Administration. The title of his thesis is: The Politics of National Reconciliation and the Question of Commercial Agricultural Land Reforms in Postcolonial Namibia: A Social Anatomy of Power, Domination and Contradiction.
