Namibian Education Minister wants to put kids in schools
One issue that often upsets students on our programs is when they learn that many children in Namibia are excluded from the formal educational system for a variety of reasons. These reasons often include lack of money for school fees, lack of a birth certificate and the need to spend their days looking for food. This week, the Minister of Education visited with many children who are left out of the educational system to find ways to get them back in, including instructing the Ministry of Home Affairs to expedite the issuance of birth certificates for them.
